Since 2012 institutions such as BGU no longer receive direct funding from the Government. Instead, universities are required to charge students tuition fees, with individual institutions setting fees of varying levels, up to an agreed yearly maximum.
Tuition fee increases: All tuition fees will usually be subject to annual increases, subject to the maximum fee chargeable according to the tuition fee cap set by the Office for Students (OfS). BGU reserves the right to review its fees for students continuing to study a programme within the limits set by the OfS. The tuition fee will not usually remain the same for each year of study unless it is limited by the fee cap, e.g. if the fee cap were to increase by £500, tuition fees may increase by an amount equivalent to or less than £500. The tuition fee in the majority of circumstances will remain the same, each year for the duration of the course.
The UK government has announced that EU nationals starting courses in September 2022 will only be charged the same fee as UK students if they are continuing on a course of study, or have applied for and been awarded pre-settled or settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS). Irish nationals remain eligible for the UK ‘Home’ fee as long as they have been ordinarily resident in the Common Travel Area (they do not need to apply via the EUSS).
If you already have a Student Loan Company (SLC) student loan, you will continue to receive instalments and should continue your studies as usual. The UK Council for International Student Affairs has published advice for students on post-Brexit rules and entitlement.
Further information can be found at Universities UK.

Writing up fees - The writing up fee is £50 for up to 6 full or partial calendar months or £100 for up to 12 full or partial calendar months. There is no pro-rata rebate if you require less than 6 or 12 months respectively. You should pay this fee in full upon receiving confirmation that your application has been approved.
As per our fee liability policy for postgraduate research students, if you are in writing up for part of a calendar month this counts as 1 month of the 6 or 12 your writing up fee covers. For example, a writing up period from 15th January to 10th July is a seven-month period so a writing up fee of £100 would be due.
Extension of registration (registered students) - The extension of registration fee is based on the full time home rate for your course for the current academic year.
The fee charged is based on the number of yearly quarters (3 full or partial calendar months) you are in a period of extension for. There is no pro-rata rebate for a quarter not used in full. You should pay your fee at the beginning of each quarter as detailed below.
As per our fee liability policy for postgraduate research students, if you are in an extension period for part of a calendar month this counts as 1 month of the 3 each 12.5% of the full time home fee covers. For example, a period of extension from 15 January to 10 April is a 4 month period so 25% of the full time home fee would be due.
