Recruitment Journey
1. Applying
To find our current vacancies, and to apply, head to: Jobs at Bishop Grosseteste University
All applications must be submitted directly through our Jobs page. After reading through the job advert and job description, click ‘Apply Online’ to start your application for the vacancy. Once you have completed and sent your application, you will receive an email confirmation. You can also opt-in to SMS messages to notify you of progress with your application.
If you need assistance with submitting your application, please email hrhelp@bishopg.ac.uk
2. Shortlisting
Once the closing date has passed, the shortlisting panel will assess applications according to the information supplied against the criteria set out in the job description and person specification. As soon as a decision has been reached, you will be contacted with the outcome.
Unfortunately, due to the number of vacancies and applications the University receives, we will not be able to provide feedback to those who weren't shortlisted for interview, only to applicants following interview.
3. Interviews
If you are shortlisted, you will be emailed with details of the interview process. Where possible, we will advertise the interview date to ensure that you have sufficient notice to make arrangements to attend, if shortlisted.
As well as a competency based question and answer interview, other selection methods may be used to assess your skills and experience. This could include a presentation or skills task.
4. Offer of Employment
If successful, you will normally receive a verbal offer which will be followed up by a formal conditional offer of employment. All offers are conditional upon receipt of satisfactory references, proof of qualifications, and other pre-employment checks.
Once we have everything in place, we will be able to confirm your start date.
