The results of the Graduate Outcomes Survey for the 21/22 cohort are in...

Graduate Outcomes is the biggest UK annual social survey and captures the perspectives and status of recent graduates. All graduates who completed a course will be asked to take part in the survey approximately 15 months after they finish their studies. The survey aims to help current and future students gain an insight into career destinations and development.

We are pleased to announce that BGU has achieved excellent outcomes, climbing the ranks in several areas, year on year. Here are some of the key findings:

Key Findings

  • 92.1% of graduates from the 2021/22 cohort who responded to the Graduate Outcomes Survey 15 months after graduation are in employment or further study. This is higher than the Sector average of 87.9%.
  • Ranked 5th for graduates in employment or further study1, up from 9th the previous year
  • The percentage of the university’s graduates in employment or further study has increased from 91.5% for the 2020/21 cohort, against the wider sector trend where the sector average has decreased from 88.8% to 87.9% over the same period.
  • 91% of graduates stated that their current activity is meaningful (up from 89%)
  • 82% state that they are using what they learnt during their studies in their current activity (up from 77%)
  • 84% state that their current activity fits in with their future plans (up from 80%)

1 Excluding small and specialist higher education providers.

These results are not only a testament to the dedication of colleagues across the University, they also clearly demonstrate the calibre of our students, who work hard to develop the skills needed for a life of impact, and go on to create positive change in their communities and beyond.
