Part of the existing Foundation Degree and Top Up Degree courses in Childhood and Youth at BGU; this pathway allows students to work towards both an academic qualification as well as a professional qualification recognised by the National Youth Agency.
The pathway focuses on the practical skills involved in Youth Work. Students undertaking it will be supported by a fieldwork supervisor and lecturers to collate evidence from their professional practice to create a portfolio of work mapped against the national occupational standards for Youth Work. To achieve the qualification students will need to complete both the foundation degree and top up degree courses.
Gaining a qualification that is either endorsed or validated by the National Youth Agency and recognised by the JNC ensures it is quality checked and fit for purpose. It helps develop youth work practitioners that can meet the needs of young people and employers in the youth work field.
You can find more information on this pathway, along with BGU’s full portfolio of courses, on the University’s website or by contacting the Enquiries Team.
