Ahead of Bishop Grosseteste University (BGU) turning 160 next year, the University has launched new walkways across campus, designed to celebrate its namesake.
The walkways, which will be installed across campus from April 1 2021, are styled after chessboards and anyone using them will only be able to travel diagonally, in honour of the bishop pieces of the long-standing board game.
A spokes-person for BGU said:
“We’re very proud of the Bishop Grosseteste name and heritage so it’s exciting to be taking this step to recognise it across campus”
