At BGU we recognise the importance of our students’ viewpoints and are always keen to hear what they have to say.
Our annual Survey Week, organised by the University’s Centre for Enhancement in Learning and Teaching and Students’ Union, offers students the opportunity to fill out both the National Student Survey (NSS) and our own BGU Student Survey (BGUSS). Their responses provide us with indispensable feedback that allow us to create a positive learning environment.
The National Student Survey (NSS) is completed by nearly half a million students and has been an annual occurrence since 2005. Primarily aimed at final year undergraduates, the NSS gathers students' feedback on their course and experiences whilst at university.
With the NSS only open to final year graduates the BGUSS was launched by the University to give every student the chance to share their satisfaction with all aspects of life at BGU.
Dr Rob Boast, Executive Dean Learning, Teaching & Student Engagement, discussed why encouraging students to share their views is an important goal for BGU:
“At BGU we make it our mission to put the student voice at the heart of what we do and initiatives like Survey Week allow us to put that ethos into action.
The NSS, along with our own BGUSS, provides a fantastic opportunity for us to evolve and enhance the student experience. By engaging with our students we know that we are creating a positive and rewarding learning environment that they can truly feel a part of.”
