The Teenage Market offers budding traders, business owners and performers the chance to trial their entrepreneurial ideas in a realistic and supportive environment.

Having first become involved with the market in 2016 BG Futures (the Careers, Employability and Enterprise team at Bishop Grosseteste University) have teamed up with East Lindsey District Council to take The Lincoln Teenage Market to Louth on May 18, 2019.

As part of an event to mark the launch of Love Your Local Market fortnight; Entrepreneurial young people are invited to trial new business ideas, and sell creative products at a special Teenage Market. Traders and performers aged between 10 and 29 are able to apply for a free stand at the event, and family friendly entertainment will take place throughout the day.

Becky Goodman, Enterprise Development Manager, and Nikki Smith; Careers, Employability and Enterprise Adviser at BGU, said:

"We are delighted to work with East Lindsey District Council to take The Lincoln Teenage Market on tour to Louth. We have been running these events in Lincoln for the last two years and have achieved considerable success, with some traders now having their own stores, established businesses, and brands. It would be great to work with the local community to emulate this in Louth."

Esther Belton, the District Council's Markets Manager, said:

"We are always on the lookout for fresh new talent and the next generation of market traders, so we are delighted to be able to work with Bishop Grosseteste University to bring this opportunity to Louth. We will be offering incentives to all traders on the day to sign up to trade again."
