Students were able to have their say in the National Student Survey (NSS) and BGU Student Satisfaction Survey (BGUSSS).
Bishop Grosseteste University (BGU) recently concluded its Survey Week, which ran from 29th January to 2nd February. During the week, students were encouraged to take part in two surveys: the BGU Student Satisfaction Survey (BGUSSS) and the National Student Survey (NSS).
The BGUSSS is our annual internal survey run in conjunction with the Students’ Union. It asks students to rate their satisfaction with all aspects of life at BGU. The survey is open to all students.
The NSS is an annual survey that focusses mainly on students’ satisfaction with their course. It is completed only by final year undergraduates, at universities and colleges all over the country. The NSS is conducted independently by Ipsos on behalf of the UK’s higher education funding bodies.

As part of the promotional campaign during the event, the Students' Union was used as a 'base camp' for students to come in and complete the survey(s). CELT, Recruitment and SU colleagues, along with support from student ambassadors assisted students completing the survey(s), then directed them to the upstairs area where more activities awaited...
Students were treated to a free pizza slice, a free gym session at the campus facilities, and a meet and greet with Guide Dogs UK. They also had the chance to win a £50 One4all voucher upon completing the BGUSSS and £150 towards graduation costs for the NSS.
Aime-Anne, a BGU L6 Psychology student, was one of the BGUSSS One4all voucher winners.
“It is important to be at a university that wants to cater to what the students want and/or need. This is why the BGUSSS is important, it gives students the chance to tell the university about what needs to change so that BGU can improve. You won’t find many universities that care about students like BGU does.”
Leanne, a BGU English & History student, was another BGUSSS One4all voucher winner!
Stephanie, Centre Co-Ordinator for CELT and student Ryan, Vice President for Clubs & Societies present the £50 donation for the SU engagement with the surveys.
Another prize draw to take part in was the chance to win a Gizmo goodie bag. Gizmo the cat has been a regular visitor to the campus and five students were picked at random to take home a bit of their likeness.
The NSS and BGSSS is open from the 29th January until 30th April 2024. Visit the Your Voice Heard page for further information on the surveys and how to complete!
