Philip Yeung

Philip has worked at Bishop Grosseteste University since 2018, first as a Visiting Tutor for the Education Studies, Professional Studies and PGCE teams before becoming a Lecturer in 2020, and then Foundation Year Programme Leader in 2021. Philip’s current roles at the University are: 1) Associate Dean International, 2) Deputy Head of Programmes Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, and 3) Programme Leader MA Education and iPGCE.

Philip studied his undergraduate degree in music at the University of East Anglia. Once graduated, he undertook his PGCE with the Open University and became a fully qualified teacher in the secondary sector. Philip spent 10 years working in secondary schools and FE colleges, mostly as a Music Teacher and Curriculum Leader of Music and Performing Arts. After completing his MA in international educational management at the University of Leeds, Philip has taught on various Education-related MA programmes at both the University of Leeds and the University of Bath, specialising in educational leadership and management.

Philip’s research interests are in educational leadership and creativity in teaching and learning.
